Thomas Bey, MD

Dr. Thomas Bey graduated from University of Michigan with a Bachelors of Science in Engineering in 1987 and then started his journey into medicine by obtaining his Medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine (Detroit) in 1991.

After completing his residency training in Diagnostic Radiology in 1996 at University of California, San Francisco/Fresno, he completed his fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology in 1997 at Emory University School of Medicine, Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Bey worked as a partner at MD Imaging in Redding, California for 20 years. He joined Centennial Shaw Heart and Vascular Physicians in 2023.

He is currently active in both OLA and QA project accountability in both board certification systems. He has been a past medical expert reviewing member for the California Medical Board and was granted Adjunct Assistant Professor of Radiology status from Touro University in Vallejo, California in 2011 for his work with residents rotating through Mercy Medical Center (Redding, California)

His special interests and treatment fields include Stroke Thrombectomy, Venous Interventions and Vertebroplasty/Kyphoplasty procedures for treatment of severe back pain.

In his spare time he enjoys family time as well as running, biking and swimming, and has completed many triathlons.

“My philosophy of care is to treat patients with the Golden Rules of ‘Do No Harm’ and to treat them just as if they were a family member. Interventional radiology inspires me given my previous background as an engineer. The blending of technology with medicine to achieve the least invasive and often safest methodologies intrigues me. The spectrum of care in IR is wide in both acute life-threatening (stroke, pulmonary embolism, bleeding from trauma) and chronic debilitating (venous stasis ulcers, severe back pain, biliary and urinary obstruction) diseases.”
